The hosel of the putter is one of the most significant factors that will determine whether or not you are putting well. Most people tend to ignore the hosel type and focus on the putter types solely. However, for a person to perfect his putting, he has to make a note of different types of putter hosels and figure out which type is best suited for him.

·         Plumber neck: This type has a horizontal bend where the end of the shaft and the hosel meet. This design offers a moderate amount of offset and therefore is genuinely easy to use. They are one of the most popular among golf putters.
·         Flare tip: In this type, the shaft covers the hosel where the two connect. These have lesser offset as compared to plumber necks.
·         Face Balanced: These putters have no hosels. They are self balancing and they usually have an S-bend shaft entering the putter head directly.
·         Long hosel: As the name suggests, these designs have long plumber necks and they function on face balancing.
·         Slant Neck: These are usual plumber necks but are bent from the shaft line. These give great offset.
·         Center Shaft: These designs have shafts that enter he putter head near the heel. These are very popular and are usually available on golf putters for sale.
